Resume
I am seeking part-time work as a Web Programmer/Developer within the Napa/Sonoma areas.
Request: Canopy Management (creator of wine brands) needs an on-line resource library that allows their distributors/vendors to access Canopy media assets (fact sheets, bottle shots, etc.) for the 10 different brands of wine that they make. The site needs a secure admin interface to allow users to add, edit or remove items from the library. The “Trade” section page found within each brand’s individual website needs to be capable of displaying the assets assigned to that brand as administered within this application.
Word performed: This project is still in the development phase. LAMP, jQuery and AJAX are the technologies being used to create this on-line application.
Request: I have performed various one-off project requests for CiaoBambino.com. The most recent was to assist their developer with SQL injection hacks that were occurring on their domain. I identified the source, corrected the code and implemented the solution. This site uses .NET and SQL Server technologies.
Request: Modify the site’s home page so that it displays 5 recent posts from the Robert Oatley blog. The recent posts will be taken from within 5 specified categories of the site’s WordPress blog.
Work performed: Using SimplePie/PHP, I created a routine to cycle through the blog’s RSS feed. For each category, the routine will return the most recent post.

Request: When coding I often miss seeing my beautiful daughters. I wanted a way to see their most recent pictures at the click of a single button … no matter what website I was on.
Work performed: I created a Google Chrome extension that will display the 20 most recent photos from my Flickr photo stream that are tagged with my daughter’s names. The extension taps into the Flickr API and send its request. The display is a small pop-up window next to the extension’s button allowing my existing web browsing sessions to remain untouched.
Request: The Ocean Medicine Foundation (OMF) needed an administrative interface to allow for the capturing of various data points such as climate/weather, demographics, mortality/morbidity, hospitals, etc. for various islands. In turn, they also then needed a way to present this data on their website to the public.
Work performed: I used MySQL as the database engine and created an internal administrative interface for adding, editing or deleting island information. I also created various pages on the website to allow the public to search and browse through these various data points.

Request: WordPress customization request to create a template’d page that will only show blog posts relative to the page.
Work performed: Using PHP, I created a routine that converts the page URL to a WordPress tag id. It then passes this tag id to existing WordPress functions to perform the necessary queries and display their results.
